First, Google Docs helps teachers interact with their students. Teachers are able to publish announcements about upcoming assignments on Google Docs thus helping students be more aware of their schedule. Google Docs also gives teachers the opportunity to monitor and be interactive in their students’ progress by allowing them to give guidance and feedback while the student is still working on the assignment. (For Educators)
Next, Google Docs makes group projects easier. Before Google Docs, groups would constantly be sending the updated project back and forth through e-mail. It could become tedious work having to remember to save and send your work to the rest of your group. Google Docs has changed that. “With Google Docs, you can set up a project so that each member of a specific group can access a group paper to write and edit from any computer with Internet access.” (Fleming) Also, Google Doc’s users never have to remember to save their work; Google Docs saves automatically when the user makes changes. In conclusion, Google Docs provides benefits in many different ways in the classroom to both teachers and students. It helps teachers communicate and give feedback with their students easily and helps group projects work effectively.
